Curiosity Project Update

Hello! :) I hope you are enjoying your long weekend.
Now that your child has chosen a topic to research, I am linking a site that might help you and your child gather information on your child's Curiosity Project and concept map creation. You can further research your topic, create a concept map with big ideas and details, and take notes on a notepad provided (or use it to add to their own concept map). Be sure to watch the 3 minute introduction video. The most important thing to remember is that this is a introduction to research to all 1st and 2nd grade students. It is not meant to be frustrating, just an exciting adventure into questioning, finding new information, connecting information already known, compiling all that information into a thoughtful report that makes sense and provides complete thoughts, and presenting that wonderful new information to an audience in a creative way.
Have fun and please let me know if you have any questions. :)

Our Wonder Project

We are embarking on a 6 week journey into being active, curious learners. Your child brought home a paper today describing this project. Your child will receive a journal to start capturing all the questions, research, wondering, and curiosity involved in our home/school project. Please read over the information carefully and let me know if you have any questions. Each week I will send home a new homework page like the one sent home today.

Tuesday's Homework:
Meet with a parent or other adult at home asking these questions:
·     What is Curiosity?
·     Is it important? Why or Why Not?
Write notes on what you talk about below (parent or child can write)

Watch at least two of Curious Learner videos and think about these questions:
·      How do these curious people use their curiosity or passion to learn new things?
·      What advice did they have for others who are curious?

Take notes below on what you notice (parent or child can write)
*Videos will be uploaded after 4:00p.m. today.

Thank you for your support at home! Have fun picking a curious topic. :)
